Simone Biles
Simone Arianne Biles (/sI'moUn 'baI@lzborn on March 14, 1997)[4] is an American artistic gymnast. Shannon Miller holds the record for most Olympic medals awarded by an American gymnast, with seven. She is also the equal ninth in total. With 25 World Championship medals won, she is the most decorated gymnast from the time of the Gymnastics World Championships. Many consider her to be the most successful gymnast of all time. Joe Biden awarded Biles the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2022. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Biles received individual gold medals in the all-around, vault and floor; bronze medals on balance beam, and also gold in the context of the United States team, dubbed the "Final Five".At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo Biles was a participant. Biles was predicted to claim at minimum four of the six available gold medals, she withdrew from most of the competition because of difficulties with "the twisties", a temporary loss of air balance awareness. Biles was awarded an Olympic silver medal for the US team, and a bronze medal in the balance beam. The judges were impressed with the partial withdrawal she had made, her her mental and physical health-focused focus, determination and determination to stay secure. She has also been a five-time World all around champion (2013-15, 2018-19) as well as five-time World floor exercises champion (2013-15 and 2018-19), three-time World balance bead champion (2014-15 and 2019) and two-time World vault champion (1918-19) 2021), seven-time United States all-around champ (2013-16, 2018-19, 2021) and a member of the gold medalists on the American team at the 2014 2015, 2018 and 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics championships. She also is three-time World silver medalist (2013 and 2014 on vault, and 2018 on uneven bars) and a three-time World bronze medalist (2015 on vault 2013, 2013 and 2018 on the balance beam).
Biles is the World's most decorated gymnast (25) and also the world's most gold-medalled (19). She has now surpassed Vitaly Scherbo, who holds the record for the most World medals. Biles won both 24th and 25th gold medals in the 2019 Stuttgart competition in Stuttgart. Biles is also the only female gymnast who has the most World all-around titles (5). She's the sixth female to be awarded an individual all-around championship at the Olympics and World Championships. Biles is the tenth gymnast and first American female gymnast to receive a World medal on every event and is the first female gymnast since Daniela Silivas in 1988 to be awarded a medal in every event in a single Olympic Games or World Championships, having accomplished this feat in the 2018 World Championships in Doha. Biles was born on 14 March, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. She is the third of her four siblings. Shanon Biles, her birth mother, didn't have the time for Simone and her other kids, Adria, Ashley, or Tevin. All four went into and out of foster care. Biles his maternal grandfather Ron Biles and Nellie Cayetano Biles discovered that Shanon had been placed in foster care. They started caring for Shanon's children for a short time in Spring, Texas in 2000. In 2003, the Biles family had officially adopted Simone and her younger sister Adria. Ron's sister Shanon, Shanon’s aunt Harriet and Harriet adopted their two children. Biles is a Belizean citizen, through her adoptive mom and considers Belize her second home. Biles and her family are Catholic.
