Despacito was a track from the year 2017 made by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It became the top popular streamed song across the globe within the space of six months. The song was a mix of reggaeton and pop music that not only drew attention to Latin Music, but also reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish tracks in 2016 as opposed to two in 2015. The Despacito song was at its peak popularity in 2017 however 19 mostly Spanish songs made it into the top 100 In 2020, there were 41 of them. Justin Bieber's remix in two languages Despacito came out in the year 2017. After that, some of the most popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny for MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna worked with Maluma in the creation of Medellin. Certain reggaeton performers lamented the trend towards popular music by 2020. But a new band, Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the growth and evolution of reggaeton. He often used electronic dance and other styles.
